An Invitation.
Welcome.
This blog section was started to create a connecting and shared creative space on my website for those interested in art and art therapy where art stories, prompts and ideas, general art therapy information and self care suggestions could inspire and engage others in their creative journeys.
Sharing Stories.
Stories showcases makers and creators through their meaningful art experiences and personal narratives. When we expand our view of art everyone has a creative story … whether describing a brief moment, a memory, a sensation or feeling, the creative process itself or a developing and evolving narrative or art piece.
Staying Connected.
I have a subscription list for the blog and send out emails whenever there is a new story. Let me know your preference and if that interests you. However, please do not feel pressured to subscribe as I know our email inboxes can get overloaded at times. There is a tab on the main blog page to add your name or I can add your name manually.
Continuing the Connection & Paying it Forward.
I can link your story to your instagram, website etc. Just let me know. I also list on the Resources page (under Makers and Creators).
The Blog Aim and Intention.
To provide ideas and prompts for creative exploration, reflection, general learning and self care.
• Welcome • AP BLOG welcome and introduction to the blog
• Listing of blog story content/topics and blog title list from A-Z.
• Stories. Storytellers. Makers and Creators. Contributors.
✿ Find Your Story. Reflect.
A creative narrative is everywhere when we are present, listen and become story hunters … from capturing a moment in time, a personal reflection or response as witness, guide or participant, to curating creative e✿xperiences, facilitating others and one’s own complete immersion into various forms of expression and art making.
✿ Write Your Story. Create.
This is really open - your story to share….something about creativity, interests, art as therapy, the self-care piece, health, the role of art in the Pandemic, connecting with others with your art, connecting with nature, supporting the self etc. (a meaningful story to you).
✿ Submit Your Story. Share.
• Story: You can send the written story to me via email. The text can be sent in the body of an email or in a word doc or pdf. I then copy and paste into my web template (so no blog experience required for this).
• Photos: In so many ways the visuals make the story. Just send photos along via email. Provide relatively high resolution images to accompany your story.
• Links: Provide your links - how to reach you if someone wants to connect with you post story.
• Layout: My job is to upload your story into my blog template on Squarespace. I will email you a draft pdf before posting for you to review and approve layout and content of course (just in case I have missed something or changes are needed).
