Navigating 8 Common Client Challenges in Art Therapy Practice.

I created a Resource Handbook for my Major Project at TATI because it was a niche of research that inspired me, as I’m passionate about supporting the success of others in my profession. The eight common client challenges that are explored in this book were derived from a focus group with my class cohort, and their concerns on navigating obstacles in their practicum placements. Art therapists who had 5+ years of practice experience offered their advice through a questionnaire, and an early version of the Resource Handbook was reviewed to assess its helpfulness. An online copy was donated to the TATI library database, as well as a printed paper version at TATI for current and future students to utilize.

I have graduated from TATI, and am now working as an RP (Qualifying) at Art Therapy Guelph, as well as through my virtual private practice, Art Haven Online Therapy Services. In the future, I plan to become an RCAT so I can supervise art therapy students, and support them the way my supervisors always supported me through my journey to becoming an art therapist.
