“The eye is the window of the body. Every image of the universe is contracted to one point.”
Eye-Scapes.
A Connecting-Doodle Art Story.
There is just something about eyes. Since early high school I have been mesmerized by eyes and eye imagery, fascinated by their form and beauty within symbolic, representational or aesthetic contexts. And then, ever curious as I was drawn into their alluring depth as portals to meaning, connecting, witnessing, and being.
Eye sketches from high school onwards appeared in my school notes, sketchbooks and within relaxing doodling moments, whenever and wherever paper and pen were provided. As seen in this art story, the eye image has been explored through different mediums from art-school-lithography to stylized colouring pages, from artist cards to customized gift cards and paintings. The eye sketch is where I begin when I need to focus, relax or contemplate any form of creative endeavour (It is emphatically my go-to doodle).
“Beautiful eyes are those that show, Like crystal panes where hearth fires glow, Beautiful thoughts that burn below”
