OATA News. 2021-23 Board

Introducing the current Ontario Art Therapy Association Board for the 2021-23 term and a well deserved thank you to the 2019-2021 Board. We have recently sent out the 2021 Summer-Autumn Tapestry Edition to our association members and below are a couple of photo-collage pages created as Communication Chair that I thought I would share here. Also, a warm invitation to Ontario Art Therapists to come join us on the board as positions are still available.

As your new president, I see beautiful things happening. Even though, we are dealing with a Pandemic and things seem to be paused, I believe in a bright future for us and for OATA. I would like to see more opportunities for our members to maintain a good and steady professional development portfolio. I would like to bring on more volunteers to help the board maintain its programming agenda. I look forward in continuing my work with OATA’s New Board of Directors.
— Melita Richardson • OATA President
What a great group of arty people I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past few years! It’s with a feeling of thankfulness and admiration that I look back and remember all the steps we took together, forging through the pandemic and other things! Best wishes to each one of you. And, of course, support and strength to the new Board. I am confident that your creativity will serve you well!

I often ask my clients to write about their feelings after we process their art work in session. Here is a little reflective poem I wrote, part of my process.
