Golden Sunflowers. Golden Moments.

“I Am Here’… in a Field of Sunflowers.

Awe and presence this September day as I am surrounded by an expansive field, rows upon rows of golden blossoming sunflowers at Dixie Orchards with Dave, Jenny and Mike. Surrounded by such beauty in my favourite season how can I not create a post to share potential creative and seasonal inspiration for art making and engaging with nature!

I Am Here!
….embodied sunlight to elevate one’s mood! ….welcome and needed!

The sunflower reflects warmth and shining light as it stands tall and reaches upwards. Each individual flower is perfection to take in. What an impressive contrast between these fields of golden yellows and rich greens, and this moody and dramatic September cloud-filled sky. Smudges of deep steel grey and rich slate blue, with dappled flecks of white, turquoise, and golden sunlight dance around us as we wander through the sunflower fields on this gorgeous autumn day.

I don’t think there’s anything on this planet that more trumpets life than the sunflower. For me that’s because of the reason behind its name. Not because it looks like the sun but because it follows the sun.

Who knows what may lie around the next corner? There may be a window somewhere ahead. It may look out on a field of sunflowers.

Despite knowing they won’t be here for long, they still choose to live their brightest lives — sunflowers

Hidden inside every flower are seeds of imagination, destiny, and future dreams.

We all really enjoyed the life-size wooden frame that Dixie Orchards provides (alongside other various props), to encourage farm guests to creatively engage with the landscape, play with the composition and content of their photos, and create images that showcase the sunflowers in such a striking way.

We offer pick-your-own apples, pumpkins and hazelnuts when in season. Walk through our sunflower fields, get lost in the corn maze or take a wagon ride around the farm. Our authentic farm experience can be enjoyed by all ages.

Also enjoying some delicious apples and pickled beets this week that I picked up at the Dixie Orchards' Market :) If time permits, I am hoping to return to pick some hazelnuts (have never done that before).
