Body of Wisdom. Jacquie.

Sharing the book of poems by Art Therapy peer and fellow TATI Faculty member, Jacqueline Compton who is an art and somatic therapist, teacher, advocate, artist, and poet. I have so enjoyed the guided workshops I have had the pleasure of participating in where Jacquie invites us to be curious about what we notice in our bodies, in the moment, and as we settle into our spaces and lived experiences. Jacquie gently invites curiosity, pause and reflection around felt senses - movement, shifts and sensations as we land and settle into a state of reverent and nuanced body awareness.

Your wisdom, your magic runs deeper than you think.

Jacquie’s Story.

I am and have always been a poet. I was a poet before I even knew I was. Poetry has enveloped me and invited me to see, explore and make meaning of the world. It has moved me closer to myself.

I want to know and explore the depths of our being and creatively explore what it means to be human. I believe in the artist's power within, the creativity of our souls and the deep wisdom of the body.

A Body of Wisdom holds my poetic understanding of trauma and my love of the body's organic intelligence.

A Body of Wisdom explores my embodiment and the embracing of the wisdoms of grief.

My Process, transformations and integrations are a journey through and to a sense of alignment within. It is a process, a response to the gifts and understandings I have received as I have moved closer to the body's wisdom in this work.

A Body of Wisdom is a journey toward aligning and integrating all we are and all we are unbecoming.

The body is poetry
it unfurls into
a body of truth
of a journey embodied within
moving you to a story that is
creating space for the true
action of your dreams
it tells a story
that is ready to be moved through
so that the ancient in all of you
can begin to ignite
your fire
from within
